MM House

The Work is located in the south of Chile in the city of Puerto Varas, which is a very rainy area with a humid climate. The assignment consisted of a single-family home on a plot of land with a complex geometry at the time of the program being finalized. The morphology of the house is born as a result of the possibility of inhabiting the land on a single floor.
Having said the above, a triangular plan was created, challenging the natural slope of the land, which was sought to be used to the maximum given its visual relationship with the lake, taking a certain height above the surrounding buildings.
The housing had to have the condition of being built with very few economic resources and with materials from the area since the importation of these was unfeasible and at the same time it sought to value the materials even if they were basic from the area.
The program, for its part, required that the house have the minimum possible circulations in order to maximize the built spaces, which is why a floor plan with a common area center where all the spaces converge was chosen. For privacy and teleworking, the height of the house was taken advantage of to create a loft.
The idea of lightness and its morphology was sought in relation to the typical built landscape of the area, as well as the warm and bright interiors in contrast to the gray days of the area.
