Koleliba Family is a Tiny house that measures 2.45x6.5m and aims to host a family of four. These 14m2 of internal space manage to fit a standard size bathroom with a shower cabin, kitchen, dining zone and a separate bedroom. But what’s more important, this Tiny house is designed to actually encourage spending more time outdoors to enjoy nature. The big lid lifts-open to create an outdoor lounge space with bench and sun shading. You could easily spend a day there just watching at the ever changing landscape in front.
The Siberian larch exterior is linen oiled to preserve the natural beauty of timber and put and emphasis on its grain. If left untreated gradually the larch will silver and blend into its surroundings beautifully. The dark grey aluminum glazing is complemented by other items like lights and sockets to form a contrasting pane on the main façade. This dark matte line is continued in the interior where the kitchen countertop, the faucet, lights, switches and sockets are opposed to the warm hues of the birch plywood.
As the space is limited multifunctional furniture is in place. The dining nook transforms into two single beds sleeping space and a sliding door provides some privacy of the main bedroom. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary – a built in under counter fridge, hob and an oven. Plenty of storage space is provided by the overhead cupboards as well as those underneath the sofa and the bench. Despite its size and heavy functional program Koleliba Family makes no compromise with the open space and tries to keep it airy and open towards the view.
Koleliba Family could be ideal weekend home, placed in a forest or next to a lake but it could also be the perfect guest house to place in your backyard. The layout is always discussed with the clients and could be altered according to their needs and wants.
