Complete kitchen remodel in the San Francisco bay area suburbs. The original kitchen was completely closed off from an adjacent family room and lacked an island. Everything was ripped out, the ceiling was lifted, walls were moved, new windows were put in and the floor was redone. The homeowners’ main request: something different from an all-white kitchen.

The focal point of the kitchen is the custom-made island painted in Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore. The end legs are bleached sycamore. The perimeter countertops are basaltina, while the island is honed Luce di Luna quartzite. The range wall features graphic tile, while the sink wall is covered in Snow White marble subway tile. We invested a bit more money into the tilework on the range wall because the homeowners wanted a focal point that was fun!
The custom cabinets are a soothing gray (Harbor Gray by Benjamin Moore) and present a bright look without being stark white. The walls are painted in Cloud Cover by Benjamin Moore. The floor is European white oak in 7¼-inch planks with a custom finish.
The custom bar area features shimmery gray wallpaper (Silver Siren by Phillip Jeffries) and a custom wood countertop made from the same bleached sycamore as the island legs. Javier pendant lights by Arteriors Home; Tendy C counter stools by EuroStyle.
The custom cabinetry and self-closing drawers hide a pullout charging station and liquor drawers. The cabinet pulls: Trinity by Emtek
