Boulders (chosen by homeowner) paired with Chief Joseph Lodgepole Pine.
The walls are juniper timbers that were painted black and then clad with cedar deck boards for a light and modern look.
Black and shore pines are key focal points in the front yard.
The boulder grouping makes a bold focal point without taking away from the home's dramatic entrance.
The home towers over the backyard slope. Our screens, retaining walls, and the bamboo (will mature to 20'+) will help it feel a part of it's surroundings.
Landscape lighting illuminates key features of the landscape at night.
The dry garden contains a custom copper basin fountain and planters.
The pine's planting bed appears to float over the slope.
The simple water feature uses the sound of water to draw you towards the main entrance.
Stone slab steps were custom fabricated locally for the backyard path.

This Camas, WA home was already a bold statement- modern and new in a subdivision of traditional 90's homes. The landscape installed by the builder did not measure up.
Ross NW Watergardens designed and installed a Japanese-inspired modern landscape for the small front yard and the large sloping backyard.
The front yard features a "floating" dry pond and modern dry creek, with cloud pruned pines and mass plantings of grasses.
The backyard uses cedar clad retaining walls and screens to integrate the home into the site and provide structure. Stone steps and moon gates guide eyes up the slope and allow feet to travel down it.
