This farmhouse in the Santa Cruz Mountains is the owner's childhood home. With a growing family of his own, SVK was brought in to modernize the outdated and less functional spaces while preserving the vintage character of the home. The bathroom was expanded by pushing the bathtub wall back to create an alcove shower over tub. With the additional space, a second sink was added, which symmetrically frames the pre-existing window. The result is bright, spacious, and seamlessly integrates with the original architecture.
