Father-daughter renovation of 1972 Airstream 31’ Sovereign Land Yacht that at one time was part of the official Airstream caravan.
On a family holiday, we found this gem in a ditch on Cortes Island, BC - covered in dirt, grime, and dust. I’m an interior designer and my Dad makes artisan wood and metal furniture. We had a vision for a “laid back luxe” trailer and together we created Cortes the Airstream.
Equipped with solar panels that fold against the trailer for travel, a separate wash house with composting toilet, and an open and spacious layout featuring hundreds of thoughtful and custom details. ‘Cortes’ finds its current home on a riverbank under huge maple trees on Vancouver Island. We don’t know where she has been or where she will end up and that’s just another element of her beauty.
