Casa Juriquilla

Casa Juriquilla is a project located north of the city of Querétaro, designed to harmonize with the natural landscape of the site. Spanning 350m2 across two levels, the project is centered around a central patio, reinterpreting the traditional Mexican housing concept of a central patio to enhance ventilation and lighting.

The color palette of the house complements the natural hues of Juriquilla, appearing terracotta-colored when viewed from within. Juriquilla is known for its significant partition production in Mexico.

Casa Juriquilla is situated in a small subdivision with compact houses. However, its design aims to seamlessly blend with the surrounding landscape. The house is positioned on half levels to accommodate the sloping terrain and is modulated with a central patio and nine quadrants.

The client expressed a keen interest in incorporating passive sustainability technologies and techniques, including a rainwater collection system, water recovery, rainwater treatment system, and photovoltaic panels. The house is strategically designed to facilitate air circulation from the interior patio, ensuring proper ventilation throughout the entire residence.
