Bromer Manor

Marietta, Pennsylvania
  • Marietta, Pennsylvania

This c1830s house with all original woodwork, 8 fireplaces, 3 staircases, and 10 foot high ceilings is situated on 23.6 acres of fields, streams, and woods. There are 6 bedrooms, 3 baths, living room, dining room, kitchen, library, music room, laundry room and 2 attic rooms. There are also a bank barn and a tobacco barn on the property.

The farm is located very close to the Susquehanna River with easy access to hiker/biker trails, rock climbing and kayaking/boating water trails, in western Lancaster County away from the tourist areas. The local municipality, East Donegal Township, was a leader in farmland preservation efforts and now has the most preserved farm land in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Additional environmental preservation measure have been taken on the property including a riparian buffer along the creek and enrollment in “Clean and Green” which offers a substantial property tax reduction.

The rivertown of Marietta, a few miles from the farm offers restaurants, live music, a yoga studio, co-working space, small farmers market and a community theater. Nearby, rivertown Columbia, an antique hub, was designated as a top small town to visit by Smithsonian magazine.

The drive to Washington DC is ~2 hours, the drive to Philadelphia ~1 ¾, and the drive to New York is ~ 2 ½ hours.

The property has been featured on the Marietta Candlelight Tour, appeared the Philadelphia Wedding Magazine, and has been used for other photo/film shoots. You will find links to photos below.
