Nestled in the northern suburbs of Chicago is a Belgian style farmhouse. Visionary behind the project is homeowner, Yoanna. Wanting to downsize and simplify her life, she was inspired by Belgian architecture and Scandinavian design. Alongside her husband, architect Michael Abraham and kitchen and bathroom designer Mick De Giulio, she began construction on her modern farmhouse. Yoanna carefully choose every element that went into the home, from the wide plank European White Oak flooring to the custom Carrara marble countertops. Her value for functionality and livability played a large factor when designing and furnishing the home. It was important to her that the exterior be an extension of the interior living. The traditional style farmhouse is represented in the indoor's shiplap walls and exterior's white stucco, cedar wood, and custom black window frames.
