The living room features custom built-ins and cork floor tiles under a high, wood-beamed vaulted ceiling.

Though the original Minima 1 provides 263 square feet of space, plenty of storage and stowable furniture compensate for the small foot print.

Minima's kitchens come equipped with Fisher and Paykel appliances.

Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is used throughout the Minima: from the floors, through the walls, to the ceiling and roof. It's sourced from local, sustainably managed forests and fabricated in Australia, shortening the construction time to about ten weeks.

Makenzie Flom, photographer Cameron Wittig’s assistant, snaps a quick pic in the sitting area, which doubles as an additional sleeping space. There’s no TV, but there is a video projector; the white curtain can be drawn to serve as a movie screen.

A queen bed sits next to one of three large windows. The lighting throughout is by Philips Hue Bulbs.
