Tup house

The aim of the project is to reflect the traditional lifestyle of the Tai people from contemporary point of view. Tai people is a small ethnic group that has been living for centuries in a remote region of Thanh Hoa prefecture, Vietnam with a unique life style. The best way is to design from the inside out instead of focusing too much about the form or the shape. On the other hand, the design tried to optimize human comfort due to the complexity of the climate in this region, sometimes it is too hot or too cold and high humidity in the air. By applying cross ventilation as well as stack ventilation (Thermal chimney) and planning the layout that offers a significant amount of shade created by the house itself. Therefore the climate inside the house is always kept at pleasant state.
