The Olympics Might Be Over, But This Brazilian Penthouse Is a Winner
Designed to accommodate an art collection and the entertaining needs of the residents, Brazilian architecture firm MK27 built a spacious penthouse in São Paulo. The three floors are connected by large corridors. The walls double as exhibition space the display artwork. Many of the interior surfaces are finished in wood and Cor-Ten steel. The warm color palette creates a somber environment and is articulated with original furniture by 20th-century greats such as Hugo França, Hans Wegner, Franco Albini, Gio Ponti, and more. But the main event of this home, is the double-height bookshelves. The library’s floor-to-ceiling storage system is throughout the library. To complete the room, the residents can enjoy the views of the city while reading some of their favorites.
