A series of long stairs leads to Maison Amtrak, which is set below street level. The entranceway demonstrates Cohen’s love of Japanese design with a geometric simplicity matched only by the formal elegance of the stained Douglas fir two-by-fours.

Maison Amtrak, Peter and Saly Cohen's home, is the latest of five spine and module houses he's designed. Clipping rooms, decks and the garage onto a central spine makes Cohen's designs high adaptable to different sites.

The bathroom's green tiles are one of the few pops of color in the home.

The home has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and each space complements one another.

A wide paved drive leads to the remodeled home, where a bright orange door extends a cheerful welcome. Mature oak, pine, and bay trees encompass the private half-acre lot.

The concrete-and-steel home by Faulkner Architects gives one family a refined escape in the mountains of Northern California.

The World of Living Auswahl is open to the public for viewing and has been designed to accommodate large crowds. Inside, roll containers and drawers integrated in the surrounding seating surfaces can be used as tables for meetings, as well as additional storage space.

Named after its rooftop photovoltaic panels, the Solar Studio is the first completed build in NODE’s customizable Trillium Series.

The rear courtyard appears to float over the site. On the right is a large screened porch with three walls of retractable insect screens from Phantom Screens, which make it easy to use the space whether it's bug season or not.

Polished concrete floors with integrated radiant heating are used throughout the home, while the walls are lined with white-painted wood planks.

The house was constructed with a wooden frame and cellulose insulation.
