Supper Club
spaces designed to bring together friends and strangers to connect over the acts of cooking and sharing meals.
Aumas designed the kitchen island, which is covered in marble tiles from Carrelages du Marais—the geometric floor tiles are from the same place—and strung the matrix of lights up above it. The barstools by Charlotte Perriand were discovered in a vintage store in Antwerp, Belgium. The green wall is covered in paint from Emery & Cie.

New York City-based Schaffer built the house in Guilford on a tight budget, since it’s currently her family’s second home. As an architect, she had say over where the kitchen, the heart of the abode, was situated. "I can see the pool, and when I'm cooking something, I can still see the kids.” It’s the main point of egress to the back patio and has the best view of the Long Island Sound.
The mashup of styles is as diverse as the range of RBW designs that peppers the interiors, including the snaking Palindrome 6 chandelier made from a modular, tubular-steel frame. It hangs in the kitchen, above a Corian-and-plywood dining table. Lyons reupholstered the vintage Brickel dining chairs by the late American designer Ward Bennett—who designed with an eye for sensual minimalism—in leather and Rain Dance linen by Schumacher; a randomized pattern of custom cement hex tiles by Original Mission Tile lines the floors.

You want to be outside but you don’t want to sit in the middle of a gale,” says Duncanson. “But [at this house] you can always find a place that’s quiet.”](https://images2.dwell.com/photos/6063391372700811264/6133453807486308352/original.jpg?auto=format&q=35&w=160)
