The partial basement holds storage and an entertainment room. A skylight over the stairs floods the area with natural light.

The entryway features the original flagstone floors, which fully extend to the outdoor patio. Guests are also greeted by a vintage 1950s bar console that Rottet found online.

Two office spaces serve as private think tanks for the residents of McClendon Residence. For her, StudioMET Architects designed a nook near the kitchen with a sliding panel that subtly closes the space when necessary. His is a more traditional room-sized study, and an adjacent full bathroom allows it to be used as an overflow bedroom.

The elegant walnut steps are paired with a railing made of natural, hot-roll steel.

Aside from the master bedroom, there are three additional bedrooms in the house. Gurney and his team used glass throughout to carry light into the home. A Copenhagen nightstand supports a Brazo table lamp in this third-floor guest room.

The rear of the house was expanded to include a family room and an open stairwell that leads to the kids’ bedrooms.
