River House

The River House is a modern interpretation of lowcountry vernacular homes on the sea islands of South Carolina. Common living spaces and an owner's suite on the first floor open up to porches on the front, sides and back. Two bedroom suites are tucked under the gabled room on the second floor. The standing-seam roof at the side porches is turned down to enclose a screen porch off the dining room and the bath at the owner's suite. Breezes are directed through the house when the floor-to-ceiling doors are opened. Continuous views in the common areas stretch between the front and back of the house.
