After an unprecedented year of earthquakes, hurricanes, and fires, a bright light has been shed on the benefits of building with concrete.

The renovation created space for a new entry foyer, separated from the living room by a wall with a large interior window-like opening.

The renovation added a new foyer in the place of its front porch, and expanded the attic-like upstairs into a full second floor.

The remodeled kitchen offers a whole corner of glass, and continues as a backsplash beneath the new cabinetry.

Pellegrino designed the running bond tile layout seen in the guest bathroom's shower, which features two inset shelves delineated by gray stone tiles laid in a stack bond pattern.

Sage-colored clay tiles line the shower stall in the master bath.

A small workspace now takes advantage of the cozy nook beneath the stairs.

The white countertops are made from concrete and the wooden cabinets have been painted a subtle shade of sage. The floors are white oak hardwood.

She used cedar planks from Lowe's and stained them to match the vanity and other wood elements in the room. “We sealed the cedar planks with tung oil, and after a year it's held up wonderfully against water seepage,” says Bertolini

The airy kitchen comes with long countertops, custom cabinetry, and bespoke appliances.
