A loft-style bedroom is situated beyond the kitchen above the bathroom.

Natural materials and the raw, exposed structure will patina over time, denoting the passage of time along with the house.

Pine and gravel sleepers follow the site’s natural slope, weaving through the existing pine trees until reaching the home’s entrance.

The main entry, located off the front courtyard is more practical than grand. The door opens onto a PK15 chair by Poul Kjaerholm and built-in coat cabinets that direct movement to either side of the hall and into the living area.

Full-height expanses of glazing span across the rear facade, with some opening up to the terrace that wraps around two sides of the house.

"The plaster's imperfections are part of what gives the house its unique character, in the same way the concrete floor shows swirls and the timber has natural knotting,

The roof features a cool roof, which reflects heat back to the sky rather than having it absorbed into the house, and 26 solar panels that often cause the meter to roll backward.

"We like moving from one [balcony] to another depending on the direction of the sun and wind,

A geometric, peach-colored tile in the master bathroom adds a joyful jolt to the home. The walnut cabinetry is an ode to the home's mid-century roots.

In the skylit master bathroom, Dandelion tile from Marrakech Design is paired with tile from Ann Sacks. The fixtures are by California Faucets and the mirror is from Paris Mirrors.

A pared-back scheme gives this room its nickname: the "Zen Room."

In the open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area, oak flooring laid in a chevron pattern and idiosyncratic wood ceiling beams add texture and a graphic quality.

Glass walls and sliding doors connect the first level to the lush yard and garden.

Pink marble is unexpected, but adds the touch of warmth every kitchen needs.

"Sherry had an amazing vision for the house and a great back-and-forth with the designers. We laugh that if it had been up to me, I would have told them to just do whatever they wanted,” says Anthony.

Bo, the family’s Old English sheepdog, keeps Sherry company in the office.
