As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, Detroit-based Shinola and Crate & Barrel have teamed up to make the most of summer days. With roots in leather and watchmaking, Shinola’s second collaboration with Crate & Barrel sees them apply their heritage brand to outdoor essentials for the coming season.

For their summer collection, Shinola has infused contemporary products with a midcentury sensibility, including everything you’ll need for a great time outside, from a lantern-lit lounge to a classic backyard cookout.

Summer light is the vibe of the melamine dining ware, which comes in speckled hues of orange, eggshell, blue, and charcoal. The collection also includes a four piece set of the barbecue tools you need to start grilling, and a wax canvas apron.

The wooden lanterns are the standout—practical and elegant objects that are perfectly suited to a true indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Taking a more rustic approach, they stray away from the rest of the collection by embracing natural tones and materials. Rounding out the set are throw pillows, decked in leather trim and plaid patterns, that would look just as good on the sofa in the den as they do outside, on a couch situated under a nice pergola.
