The Meranti wood and glass doors are over nine feet tall, and have a custom arch detail at the top. The clay coating on the walls and ceiling are by Matteo Brioni. “We mixed some colors together to give the space a perfect warm and serene feel,” says Valérie. “We like to add the same clay finish to the ceiling as the walls to create a sense of intimacy.”

The bathroom is a “compromise” for the couple, as Michelle didn’t want tile, and Augustin preferred the space to have a darker wall finish. They agreed to ensconce it in charcoal-colored plaster. The stools are by River Valadez.

Another bathroom features a freestanding tub from Jacob Delafon in Paris. The Red Shell chair, designed by Barber & Osgerby, is made of Isokon Plus’s signature material, plywood.

Martin and Katz plastered over the stucco finish of the fireplace wall with soft gray Venetian plaster.

A glass partition with concealed supports allows the space to feel open.

The bathroom is finished in simple stucco with bent copper plumbing fixtures and oversized terrazzo tile. Niches in the wall accommodate bathing supplies and provide a convenient foothold for leg-shaving.

For the redesign, they recovered the exterior in stucco and painted it black for more consistency. “We wanted the exterior to really marry the lot in a way,” says Blake. “We wanted it to be unique, but to also really compliment all of the trees and open space.”

The bathroom located in the primary suite features a floor-to-ceiling glass shower designed to highlight the space's natural bedrock walls. A large clawfoot soaking tub is also included.

Guta's designed her apartments in a combination of red, green, and blue tones, which can be seen in the living room's limewashed lilac wallpaper to the red vintage, Moroccan Beni Ourain rug, the multi-colored fabric of two matching chairs.

These textiles are designed by Chuch cofounder Natalia Ramirez, based in Oaxaca.

Chuch Estudio serves as an architecture studio, a furniture showroom, and a collaborative creative space.

Their design firm, Wewi Studio, has its office on the ground floor and worked on the building’s interiors. “There’s a practicality that goes with the kind of place we are living in and the way we work,” Paloma says.
