Architectural Research Office (ARO) designed this coop in Easthampton, NY. The lead-coated copper shingles have a folded corner to encourage shadows across the façade throughout the day.

The chicken wire and Iroko run, or walkway, has a door that folds down to become a “draw bridge entrance” to the coop.

The UK-based firm Raskl Art + Architectural calls this a “luxury minimalist chicken coop.” Materials are Valchromat (Atlantic Plywood) and Iroko wood. The nesting area is denoted by an egg shape perforated into the façade with a CNC machine, and the roof lifts with the help of gas struts.
