After: A slatted white oak screen maintains the spirit of Mid-Century while also helping to cloister the front door, providing sense of entry. Bright terrazzo flooring, again a nod toward the home’s original era, leads to the opened kitchen space (right) and refinished stair.

A new door is paired with frosted glass to preserve privacy while allowing light to pass through.

Boyer added the primary bathroom, with a surprise wrap of pink plaster on the walls and ceiling.

Like most of the house, the master bathroom sticks to neutral colors, warm browns, and a touch of delicate blue.

The original home had no family bathroom, so a new shower room was added. The bright yellow tiles create a playful atmosphere, while the curves of the mirror echo the arched window.

Doors made from FSC-certified wood and custom pivoting windows appear throughout the house, including in the garage (as pictured).
