Open-Plan, Personality-Filled Apartment in Tel Aviv

Israeli interior designer Lauren Reik renovated a roughly 750-square-foot apartment that belonged to her great-grandmother, transforming it into an inviting, open-plan space filled with personal touches.

At the back of the living room sits a custom sofa that Reik designed. Bookshelves are built into the sofa's base.

Reik added greenery to the space by suspending a tree branch to the wall. Miniature cacti in planters hang from the branch with fishing line. The hallway leading to the bedroom is adorned with antique mirrors, postcards, and personal photos.

A blue Smeg refrigerator is the focal point of the kitchen. A custom dining table, made of an antique mirror with a circular metal leg, juts off the Israeli white marble countertop.
