I get a lot of guff at work for my unabashed Donna Wilson fandom, but c'mon.... These rugs for SCP are absolutely brilliant! They look amazing in person, on display at The Future Perfect.

Just a few doors down Sight Unseen took over a building that was vacant until just about a week ago. Here's a selection from the McMasterpieces exhibition (on the second floor), curated by the site's lovely founders, Jill Singer and Monica Khemsurov. The duo invited designers to create new work using materials from industrial supplier McMaster-Carr, including (from left to right): Crane Lamp by Jonas Damon; Basket, Trivet, and Tote by Alissa MT; Mesh Bowls by Henry Julier; Oil Lamps by Karl Zahn; Chess Set by Bec Brittain; Smolten Mirror by CMMNWLTH; Golden Variation Vase by Jonah Takagi; Necklace by Ross Menuez; Jewelry by Nick Dine.

Warcraft, a very cool collection by Uhuru Design, has an amazing back story. Bil Hilgendorf, one of the founders of the Brooklyn-based company, explained that the teak used was all reclaimed from the decks of the USS North Carolina, a ship which served in WWII, with forms inspired by various parts of the vessel. The side tables are the diameter and thickness of the gun barrels, and the mirrors in the back are the size of the projectiles fired. Apparently it took 88 men to maneuver each turret! The table looks like something out of a certain Tom Petty video, but is actually a prime example of dazzle camouflage, which was used to confuse the eye of the enemy. The chair behind is in the color scheme of Measure 32, which Bill said was the kind of camo used after Dazzle.

The American Design Club curated an exhibition on the third floor of the building called Use Me, emphasizing various forms of functionality. Craighton Berman's Rubber Band Cube gives the old ball corners, and a place to put pens.

Okay, this is not in NoHo, but I loved this people-packed wallpaper at The Standard hotel down in the Meatpacking district.
