The cabinet door pulls are closet knobs that Jack retrieved from his grandfather’s house in D.C. before it was torn down.
Inside, Jack used sustainable, plant-based materials like cork flooring and bamboo structural panel walls. They exemplify the “farm-to-shelter” approach that he and his partner, Andrew Linn, foster at their D.C. architecture studio, Bldus.
The living room brings together design classics, from Fronzoni’s ‘64 chair for Cappellini to a Flight recliner by Jeffrey Bernett for Design Within Reach, grounded by a Fogg rug from Kasthall.
Positioned beneath the yellow staircase, the dining area benefits from natural light and open sightlines, making it a lively yet grounded space for meals and family gatherings.
