Lounge-Friendly Furniture Pieces
The phrase on everyone's lips is "polar vortex." And it's so brutally cold outside this winter that all we can dream about is kicking back on a sofa, preferably in well-heated or downright balmy environs. Here are 7 ways to put your feet up and lounge.
Better yet? Lounging while working! Designed by Patricia Urquiola for Coalesse, the Hosu chair is an innovative version of the classic lounge chair, merging lounging and work into one design. With a built-in ottoman; hidden pockets for magazines, notebooks, and tablets; and a hidden threading system for the cords of your electronic devices, the Hosu chair is the digitally wired worker's dream chair.
Adjacent to the main living area sits a snug lounge that looks out through mullioned windows onto a swimming pool. The room features a CH25 easy chair and a CH008 coffee table, both by Hans J. Wegner for Carl Hansen & Son, and a Mags modular sofa by Hay Studios, all of which are from Auckland’s Corporate Culture and were chosen by Jay and resident Jes Wood. The vase is by New Zealand potters Bruce and Estelle Martin, and the carpet (in Citrine) is from the Lees’ Truth in Color range.
