Lassen says the biggest key for designing a small space is to keep things as minimalist as possible. “Don’t try to make anything bigger or build an addition. Just remove all bad architecture and create clean, simple rooms.”
The light-filled living area includes a Le Corbusier leather chair and a caned lounge chair. A door on the far wall opens up to a balcony space.
With a coat of paint and new appliances and furnishings, the 880-square-foot space maintains its cozy cabin feel, while also feeling fresh and new.
Nearly every wall of the cabin is fitted with bookshelves.
Floor-to-ceiling glass in the living room makes it feel as though the room merges with the natural setting.
A low-slung, tan leather sofa and the informal, bench-style table with vintage folding chairs work with the relaxed ambiance of the space.
