Hanging on the wall behind Dolce is a piece of art by British painter Tom Hammick.

The team removed the brick at the fireplace and added a terrazzo hearth with custom brass. The angles of the walls made a traditional furniture layout awkward, so the designers opted to float the custom sofa in the center so circulation flows easily around it. Upstairs, the living room fireplace surround extends to the ceiling with Fireclay’s Thin Brick tile. A trio of rectangular skylights replaced the oddly large square that previously capped the room, and a new built-in desk and shelving add a cozy finish to formerly wasted space.
