Next to a wood-burning fireplace is a setup for the family’s record player and albums. Instead of a standard television set, they use a projector.

The paved side yard with a translucent roof sheet acts as a landing pad for the family’s ride-on toys, while a slatted frame keeps the space from seeming too cluttered.

The new staircase to the bunk room also has a privacy screen made of a bookcase with storage.

The home has retained much of its historic character, including its original wood floors and doors.

Locally made furnishings were used throughout. The living room is furnished with a second-hand Jardan couch, a copper and teak coffee table and artwork from various Australian artists. The cushions were made with custom printed fabrics from Ink and Spindle.

In the dining room next to the study is a deep window seat inserted on the north side of the home that overlooks the outdoor deck.

The living room sofa is from Article and the coffee table is from Burke Decor. The rug is vintage, and the fur chair was found at Urban Outfitters.

The polished concrete living area is furnished with older furniture that matches the color scheme of the ADU and addition.
