Life with Less

Over Labor Day weekend I read "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up", having heard a lot about it online and in podcasts. As a messy, skeptical, borderline hoarder, it was challenging at first, but after ~30 bags of donations and trash later, my apartment is now how I always wanted it to be: filled with the things that bring me joy. It's a refreshing way to live. Everything-- down to my paperclips-- has a place and a story behind it.

That capiz lamp is one of two that hung in my Nana's house my entire life. When I moved into my own apartment I begged her for the one in the back room and she obliged. She bought 3 identical lamps on Guam in the 1970s, but the third lamp's whereabouts are a mystery.
