An inviting entry nook—now featuring an Album surfboard and Cultiver towels—welcomes guests to the house.
Kelly and Ty did all the landscaping themselves, collecting driftwood and small stones from the beach and adding ferns and other native plants.
The three-story, cedar shingle-clad house is just two blocks from the beach.
The home and surrounding garden encourages connection with the neighborhood. The furnished front yard, for example, features integrated planter seating that marks the entry pathway.
“We love the hot tub, and usually try to jump in it every afternoon,” says Leah. “In the warmer months, we don’t heat it, and the kids use it as a post-beach pool and love to play in it for hours.”
A gravel path leads from the dining area to a bridge across the restored creek that runs along one side of the house.
