The home is clad in corrugated Cor-ten steel siding selected for its durability and ability to blend the home into its natural surroundings over time.

Located two hours north of Boston, the Rocky Brook weeHouse is carved out of the grade of a steep creekside lot.

The shed, accessed via new exterior walkway, received new windows and new matte black corrugated metal roofing. The quaint accessory structure is now a guest sleeping space and flexible yoga room.

The weekend retreat is a welcome respite from the hustle of Mexico City.

Inspired by Donald Judd’s minimalist works, the three volumes feature board-formed concrete walls accented with charred wood. Shown here, the tallest contains four double-height bedrooms, each with a “tapanco,” or loft, for sleeping or reading.

Tucked away in the wooded Nescove Bluff, the three-bedroom abode aligns with a long tradition of Oregon architecture known as northwest regional modernism, made famous by Pietro Belluschi.

The front door is painted in Webster Green by Benjamin Moore.

The architects incorporated sustainably sourced parota wood into the living room’s sunken seating area. The Turn Tall side table is from Blu Dot, and the pillows are from West Elm.

“We designed the landscape and house in tandem to ensure continuity between the exterior and interior,” diNiord says. An outdoor sling chair by Croft House sits in front of the outdoor shower under the covered patio in front of the primary bedroom.

Nestled at the end of the extension, the secluded master bedroom sits within the garden, enveloped in sleek linear Douglas fir cladding.

“I really like that when you walk in from the street, all you encounter is this abstract element, and you’re not really sure what you’re about to find,” says Pereyra. Visitors enter the house by passing beneath a second-floor hallway and through a courtyard to the entry lobby.
