Lakeshore bathroom

One of two bathrooms has floor-to-ceiling tiles in a calming blue shade.

The rebuilt “Idea House,” designed by Holly Freres and David Horning of JHL design. The driveway is permeable to encourage good drainage: crushed granite gravel is installed over a stabilization mat. James Hardie exterior siding is painted in Benjamin Moore ‘White Dove,’ with reclaimed wood used for the entry and garage.

Hexagonal penny tile ascends from floor to ceiling in the skylit primary bathroom.

A translucent glass door leads to the primary suite and yoga room. The walk-in shower is lined in dark blue fiberglass; the fixtures are from Sanwa.

Maldonado partnered with Daltile to use matte one-inch keystone tile in a different tone for each bathroom, and suite 302 features a blue color. The orange surface is by Shelfology, and the soap bottle is Cloud 9 Clay.

The bathroom is finished in simple stucco with bent copper plumbing fixtures and oversized terrazzo tile. Niches in the wall accommodate bathing supplies and provide a convenient foothold for leg-shaving.

The family shares a single large bathroom.

The primary bathroom continues the white oak casework from elsewhere in the home, with walls in the same white Dekton material as the kitchen counters. The dual sinks are separated from the wet chamber by a swinging glass door.

"The kitchen upgrades include the original clear fir cabinetry refitted with custom hardware, interior cabinet upgrades and under cabinet lights, stainless steel countertops with a built-in knife caddy that includes salt/pepper & olive oil services, cooking thermometer and cutting board, a dual stainless sink with dual Blanco faucets and filtered water, a Wolf gas stove with Ventahood and Sub Zero refrigerator."

The principal bath features a large glass shower and oversized soaking tub.

The bathroom has been decorated in neutral colours to help create a clutter-free sanctuary. Hidden storage is built into the ceiling above.
