A small desk area is nestled between the living room and kitchen, complete with teak shelving.

The kitchen grew by about a third, and is covered in terrazzo floor tile from Concrete Collaborative. The cabinets are Ultracraft in Rift Cut White Oak, topped with Caesarstone Quartz in Fresh Concrete. The pendant lights are from Ferm Living and are the Brass Low Socket with Tall Opal Shade.

The backsplash tile is by Fireclay, the 2x8 field tile in Calcite.

The kitchen now occupies the addition, and the island was detailed to look like a piece of furniture to better meld with the living room. The cabinet colors are Farrow & Ball’s Skimming Stone and Sherwin-Williams’s Garden Gate, and were handpainted instead of spray-finished, so as "not to have something too slick or sterile," says VW. "We wanted them to be warm and have personality."

Black-and-white tile by Marmoleum laid in a checkerboard pattern contrasts with the mint-green cabinetry in the kitchen.

The Colemans opted for mint-green cabinetry with gold hardware and matte-black Richlite counters in the cedar-wrapped kitchen.
