The color of the BlueStar range references the dining room.

The refrigerator is to the side of the pantry and forms a niche with a wine fridge and appliance garage separate from the cook’s main work space.

Custom storage wraps the entry to the laundry room.

A new large window brings more light into the room.

Two-toned closed cabinetry balanced with open shelves wraps the new kitchen. A metal and stone island acts as both the dining table and a prep counter, if needed.

The exposed rafters were carried into the exterior areas, including the covered patio.

New custom walnut cabinetry syncs with the rest of the built-ins throughout the home, to create a pleasing rhythm in the open plan. The backsplash is Heath Ceramics tile, and the counter is Pental Quartz. Open shelves at the rear overlook a cozy den, and allow sightlines out the new windows at the front of the home.

The house has a front door, but it’s actually not the main entrance: That’s found around the side, via a soothing, wood-lined courtyard. It’s a natural space for outdoor entertaining, too, thanks to the built-in fireplace and bench.

Custom cabinets in a mix of white oak and lacquered paint join Miele appliances and a honed quartz countertop.

The floors are an engineered hardwood oak, limewashed with a tumbled finish. The dining table is a hand-me-down from Daisy’s parents. Upstairs, the primary bedroom opens right up onto a rooftop terrace, but for nights when Pete and Daisy feel like hosting, Loader installed an Arne Jacobsen–inspired, thin spiral staircase on the outside for guests to climb.

The new cabinet fronts are from Reform CPH and painted a custom blue-green color. The counters are solid white quartz with a thin profile, paired with black hardware from CB2. The ceiling light is by Cedar & Moss, and Hong added a skylight. “The kitchen doesn't get the best light,” says Hong. “It has one window facing the street, but there's a plant right in front of it. So, we popped that skylight in there to bring in more natural light.”

A pass-through window connects the kitchen to the long, sunny patio.

Hexagonal tile from the 2015 remodel remained, though the countertops (complete with built-in cookbook storage) were shifted around.

The new kitchen is outfitted with white oak cabinetry by Ramon Padilla, Trias counter stools and a La Cornue oven and range.

The dining room now flows into the kitchen. Venetian plaster walls in the kitchen, give the white space texture and warmth.

One corner of the Think Room can be opened to connect it to the entry, living, and dining room.

The kitchen was relocated in the old family room, to be closer to the mudroom and garage access. It’s enveloped in custom whitewashed Ash cabinets by Sunview Cabinetry, with Caesarstone counters and a Bianco Ionio Marble backsplash that wraps into the stairwell.
