Terracotta tiles in the kitchen lend a sense of warmth. The stools are from Blu Dot and the pendant light is Foscarini.

Clerestory glazing across the top of the walls to the DJ booth creates visual connection throughout the entire extension and allows light into the snug area. It also allows an appreciation of the entire roof structure, which has timber soffits that define the character of the space.

Skylights allow for sun to reach the inside of the home, while providing views of the sky and wildflower roof.

SHED specified a new linear window above the stovetop so as to better frame the views into the surrounding forest and yard.

The couple wanted a material palette with predominantly natural materials to drive the connection to the landscape, including real stone tiles, wood trim, and volcanic stone countertops. The custom cabinets are Ash wood, topped with a Basaltina slab.

A Blu Dot table is surrounded by custom made stools by Dan Druley Craftsman. A Dolomite slab, Enigma in 3cm, covers the counters. The overhead light is Roll and Hill Fiddlehead Cantilever.

The family loves to cook and opted for a statement piece as the kitchen island made of volcanic stone with burners that emerge directly from the surface.

The living area features a Strato CB2 sectional that Melody owned before the couple moved in together. In the kitchen, pendants made by the pair hang over a concrete-topped island.

Two Faber Cylindra mount range hoods add contrast above the cooktop, while coordinating with the Paperclip stools by Kinetic.

The dark cedar wood countertops and a rose gold faucet in this kitchen meld together to craft a cozy and industrial feel.

The kitchen is a balance of woods and stone, with marble on the large island and Naica quartzite in a leathered finish on the perimeter counters and backsplash. The stove hood is a custom plaster finish: “I was constantly looking for ways to add softness,” says interior designer Holly Waterfield.

Custom white oak cabinets provide plenty of storage space. The cabinets utilize push latches, as Amornpan didn't want any knobs or drawer pulls. Next to the ovens is a mini bar.

A soapstone apron-front sink with an integrated drainboard adds a simple yet luxe touch. The single floating shelf puts everyday dishes close by without creating visual clutter.

Adding storage under the new stair maximizes the kitchen's footprint. Hemlock wood on the stair was stained to complement the casework. The faucet is from Brizo and the green backsplash tile is Heath.
