At the legendary Miller House, in Columbus, Indiana, designed by Eero Saarinen and now under the stewardship of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the owners would switch out the pillows in the sunken living room seating area based on the season: reds for the winter and lighter pastels for the warmer months.
Geraldine and Kit Laybourne’s apartment is inside architect Neil Denari’s HL23 building in the Chelsea arts district of New York. It hovers above the High Line, a former elevated rail line now transformed into a public park.
