After: The rear room on the third floor got a treatment similar to the offices on the top floor; it was split down the middle to give each child their own room, which they had a hand in designing. Piper's rainbow-themed room features Colour Tones wallpaper from Rebel Walls.

To reflect light around the room, Alper chose to use two shades of white in this space. The warmer of the two, Cotton Balls, was used on the walls.

Alaskan yellow cedar. Neal milled the boards from previously felled trees on their family property in northern Washington.

There’s now a wood-paneled entry alcove inside the new front door, with a built-in bench, storage, and coat hooks.

The new kitchen-and-dining area connects to the living area and the rear yard.

The kitchen cabinets are made from a pressed wood-fiber product. The countertop and backsplash are Caesarstone.

After: An all-white palette at the kitchen and master bathroom above creates a cohesive and calm atmosphere.
