Inspiring Artist Studios
Five artists get creative with space to achieve charming home studios.
The family’s country estate is the oldest home in Farum and sits on the outskirts of the town. Before the Asmussons bought the house, it was owned by an elderly woman with a passion for plastic bags, who called her home ‘Posehuset,’ or bag house. Today, although the name remains the same, the studio is host to a diverse range of artistic activities and music productions.
"We wanted them to be silhouettes that just exist on the landscape," says Feilden Clegg Bradley and architect Charlotte Knight, who helped design The Study and The Workshop, a pair of mobile artist's studios currently located in South Downs, two hours drive south of London. "They’re black and foreboding. In the distance, it’s quite striking."
