Throughout the space, the ceiling is covered with mirrors that elongate the tree-like columns. These design elements express the idea that libraries represent—that is, the growing and expanding of knowledge that literature promotes.

Designed by José Guedes Cruz, César Marques, and Marco Marinho of the Portugal-based firm Guedes Cruz Architects, The Wall House is laid out in an open-box plan, and is fitted with plenty of glass windows to enhance the synergy between its interior and exterior spaces.

A boutique hotel in a former 19th century water purification faction, sleek glass panels and modern furnishings exist in symbiosis with the old factory walls, stone columns and aqueducts.

The  intertwining canopy protects the lounge seating and dining areas by Poliform, while the singular opening focuses the view out to the horizon.

At the center of the hotel is a restaurant composed of bent steel rods and twigs from local mangrove trees.  The soft, organic form is a formulated contrast to the white, volumetric structures which surround it.

Inside, the home stands out from the traditional Greek design vernacular.  Architects Theo Sarantoglou Lalis and Dora Sweijd experimented with different shapes to create the living room's acoustic ceiling and partition systems.
