Ignitia Office, Coworking
HUXHUX Design serves as Head of Design for a new coworking brand called Ignitia Office. Their first location in Brooklyn is a 17,000 SF complex offering a variety of premium amenities for coworking.
Just as the kitchen is the heart of the home, the pantry is the epicenter of the coworking environment. A massive communal table along with varied seating offers members different possibilities for socializing or quietly having morning coffee on their own. The pantry area spills over into the front lobby lounge so that event programming can be absorbed across this space.
The large central lounge is conceived of as a crossover between collegiate library and hotel lobby. We wanted this space to feel inviting yet quiet and focused. Members can work at the communal library tables or they can opt to sit in the side lounges on U-shaped sofas that are geared toward social gatherings. Our custom designed privacy chairs are peppered throughout this lounge so that members can be sitting in the thick of all the action while maintaining their privacy to focus on work.
The boardroom features a 14 ft long sustainably sourced slab table, which sits under a massive skylight. Sit under the "open sky" as you have your board meetings and meet with clients. A green wall at the front of the room underscores our interest in designing work environments that focus on health and well-being in the workplace.
This large, multi-functional lounge is bathed in natural light and provides a break out lounge for community members while also affording informal meetings and work sessions at a standing table. We also furnish this lounge with custom designed privacy chairs, which are acoustically lined and positioned on casters so that members can sit in them and pivot away from the action if they want heightened privacy.
An unexpected reading nook library is tucked away under another sky light in the complex. We let natural light flood the areas that provide respites from private, closed offices. When coworkers take breaks from their offices we wanted to ensure that they could get exposure to natural elements and take peaceful breaks to refocus throughout the day.
