In New York about two hours north of New York City, architecture and interiors firm BarlisWedlick created an eclectic compound designed to suit a client with an idiosyncratic wish list. In the kitchen, a custom Stickbulb LED lamp hangs above a kitchen island topped by concrete from Get Real Surfaces. The cabinets and island feature a modern version of a traditional board and batten siding that are given an even more contemporary feel with the concrete countertop.

The owners of this updated Tudor-style abode in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Eagle Rock, Amanda and William Hunter, are the design duo behind the William Hunter Collective, which rehabs homes. Handmade tile, soapstone counters, walnut wood, and steel make up the artfully styled kitchen.

The sleek kitchen opens to dining area. A wood island is painted black to visually contrast against Himalayan marble countertops and lighter wood tones.

The sliding doors on both sides allow the house to be entirely open to tropical breezes. Floor-to-ceiling glass also offers expansive views of the landscape and beyond.

A look at one of the home's two bedrooms. Simple wood trim marks the rooms otherwise minimal aesthetic.

The master bathroom continues many themes found throughout the rest of the home. Dense ipe wood, which clads the exterior and porch columns, was also chosen to line the shower floor, while lightly oiled cherry makes up the bathroom cabinetry.

Maximo tiles with underfloor heating are used throughout both the interiors and exteriors.
