The hall bathroom has the Strands series tile from Concrete Collaborative on the floor, and Fireclay 2x8 in Rosemary on the walls.

The tile in the primary bathroom is Concrete Collaborative's way cooler line on the floor, and 2x8 Fireclay tile in Caribbean on the walls. The custom vanity is Alder with a Ceaserstone counter.

The loft has 2x2 VG Douglas Fir pickets for the guardrails.

“I was trying to simplify everything as much as possible, but still keep things interesting,” Chelsea says of her approach to architectural embellishment. Vertical pine boards around the stair, the upstairs guardrail, and sleeping loft serve practical purposes and become a striking detail, too.

The bedrooms, bathrooms, and an office nook are upstairs. Chelsea used budget-friendly pre-engineered wood flooring from Stuga Astrid on this level.

The open floor plan and vaulted ceilings maximize space and natural light throughout the home.

The entryway has enough storage for the family of four, with spots for guests.

The couple wanted to make sure that their home was distinctive from the other modern properties that were popping up in Venice Beach, thanks to plenty of bespoke features.

Solk specified shower terrazzo tile from Concrete Collaborative and backsplash tile by Heath in the bathrooms, as shown in the primary bath.

High windows in the bathroom preserves privacy.

The full height cabinets are made with a vacuum press and glued together with bendable ply and laminate, for durability. French likes to add a surprise into the design wherever possible, like the different interior color seen here, for the homeowners' future delight and discovery.

The flooring throughout the bathroom is Artistic Tile, in Venezia Terrazzo White. Wood paneling on walls and ceiling is more Rummer appropriate, with a Blu Dot mirror and In common with sconces. The vanity has Linear Standard pulls.

Jun lined the wall from the entrance door to the living area with solid Birch plywood panels for a sense of scale and warmth. “To maximise flexibility in a limited space, we designed a communal-style living area, intentionally omitting a television,” he says.

The countertop and backsplash are Mother of Pearl polish slab, and the hood is custom made out of copper.

In the long corridor, both wall and ceiling storage provide room for items needed on a daily basis and those barely reached for.

Because the primary bathroom receives little natural light, the designer employed Zellige shower tile that reflects light and offers texture.
