Glass Farmhouse | Olson Kundig

Conceived as an escape from city living, this 2,580-square-foot prefab comprises two primary and 11 secondary modules, while the 290-square-foot guest cabins consist of single modules craned into place atop concrete piers.

The bathrooms are inspired by spa chambers and include Japanese-style soaking tubs.

Painted beams serve to separate interior spaces.

Throughout the interior, window frames are sunk into the floor and ceiling, erasing the sense of space between inside and outside.

Inside, all the apartments were designed so that upon arrival, the resident is connected to the view of the ocean and Miami.

Kitchen

A massive white island range is anchored by locally sourced Italian slate floors in black. In this black and white kitchen, cabinets, countertops, and walls are finished in white so as to prevent the space from feeling too dark. To shed even more light, a glass ceiling at the far end of the kitchen presents an open-air feeling.

Sonoma Wine Country I

Warm wood and dark surfaces contrast with white walls.

Glazed garage doors by Renlita lift up to completely open the home to nature.

The client loves to entertain, and Feldman Architecture delivered with plenty of communal areas both inside and out.

The exterior is a mix of wood and stone, and the ground floor is clad in locally-quarried Algonquin limestone around the perimeter.

Through studying the limitations of the long linear cliff site, the architects came up with the form of the building.
