Located in the South of France, La Mira Ra house is a striking example of contemporary, minimalist architecture.

The garden has been prepared with electrical and plumbing services in case they are required for the future installation of a summer house.

The couple welcome visitors to Casa Mami, a thoughtfully curated, secluded desert getaway.

The three attached structures house an office, guest suite, and game room, used by the family to watch football games.

“The pitched ceilings and ribbon of clerestory windows make the interior feel more spacious than it is,” notes Gooden.

The main living spaces wrap the interior courtyard. Grand stone steps connect the sleeping quarters above to the common areas below.

Board-formed concrete walls create the core of the house and establish its organic feel. "There’s really no other cast-in-place concrete on the street," says Sarah, "but you don’t even see it until you’ve made it through the front courtyard." There, beneath a deep overhang, the couple designed a jagged pathway cantilevered over a water inside and reflections of light into the sitting area.

Outside, the landscaped yard consists of multiple courtyards and zen rock garden. A covered patio flows out onto the lush lawn, which is bordered by hedges to protect the space from wind.

A veranda connects the corner between two of the three pavilions. According to Fisher's website, the interior courtyard was designed to "protect the residents from harsh wind and sun while providing an alternative view of landscape, which is contemplative, serene, and quiet."
