The color progression starts in the entry, with FireClay 3-inch triangle tile in orange-red Ember and Svenskt Tenn's Wallpaper Vårklocker by Josef Frank.

The couple retained the strongest architectural aspects of the house, such as the existing arch in the hall, and did away with others, such as a previous kitchen renovation.

The once public hallway between the two apartments now boasts a bold wallpaper by Kravitz Design for Flavor Paper.

The entry space leads to a hallway between the pair of prefabricated, pod-like volumes. A guest closet lies to the left, and the guest bathroom is on the right.

Carter Williamson left an original arched form in the front entry hall, a shape that repeats throughout the residence.

The foyer features original Baltic pine floorboards, which were hidden beneath carpeting, while the high window bathes the space in light.

Nitin Barchha and Disney Davis of the architecture firm The White Room are known for designing organic, curvaceous homes and private gardens. They were approached by a couple seeking to renovate their one-bedroom apartment in the charming suburb of Pali Hill, just outside the bustling city of Mumbai—and the result is a vibrant urban oasis.

Adair and Kopp commissioned the metal fabricator who did the railings to create the monkey-bar rungs that line the hallway, powder-coated in seafoam green. Rings can attach to the monkey bars to give the boys a different type of challenge.

Both the walls of the hallway leading to the master bedroom and the two bathrooms are covered in a Fornasetti wallpaper that features dreamy cloud graphics.

The couple are avid readers; a hallway of shelving is now home to their ample book collection. “As we walk by, we catch a glimpse of something we haven’t read in 30 years… or never have read at all,” says Donna.
