The studio is kept simple to give creativity room to flow. "We often come up here after dinner and play a game in the corner nook," Emily says. Eric says that light from sunrises makes the space feel magical in the morning.

Clark sits at the top of the ladder to his playroom. Emily and Eric purchased the fiddle leaf fig tree when they were dating; it has followed them ever since. Currently, in residence in the connector space, it receives ample amounts of light. "This is a favorite spot in the home," Emily says. "When you pass through here, you can take a moment to pause and decide where you want to go."

The dining area is open to the kitchen, which is flanked by a set of stairs leading to a loft.

Greg utilized cross-laminated timber to construct the home and for its interior finishes.

The kitchen underwent the most dramatic change, being relocated to the back of the house adjacent to the living room. White Oak floors and casework and new Kolbe windows warm up the space. The pendant light is from Design Within Reach, and the bar stools are custom from Sean Woolsey.

The split provides abundant natural light and a subtle pause, as well as a physical and visual connection down to the kitchen.

The operable porthole-style window is an additional source of light and ventilation.

The kitchen is positioned where the lower-ceilinged edge of the second floor gives way to a multistory volume.

The bunk room features four extra-long bunk beds, allowing the home to sleep 10.

There's a loft above the family room where kids can play.

The entryway leads to a common area of a kitchen, dining, and living space.

While the exterior of Casa Dosmurs protects the family’s privacy, the interior is free-flowing and fluid. “We want to share all our moments together,” says Benjamín.

The second floor feels more like a mezzanine, with two bedrooms appearing to hang from the ceiling, connected by a bridge, with views onto both the dining and living areas.

A staircase with white oak treads accesses the loft-style bedroom. The kitchen counters and bathroom flooring are crafted from concrete mixed with glass beads that give the material an organic feel and a lighter weight.

The home, after passing through the tiled entry arch, opens directly onto the living area, with a Scott McIntire painting hung above a rug the couple bought in Turkey.
