Working with an existing 1920’s house in Atwater Village, this complete remodel and addition to the front of the home transformed the look and feel of the house completely and carved out an extra kids bedroom in the process, maximizing and creating space. The cantilevered front entry with outdoor skylights transitions to inside with its dark, stained wood exposed ceiling. At the front, a cozy nook with a generous bench for lounging and reading overlooks the yard. Inside, the dining, living, and kitchen are open and combined into one airy space with a full bar for seating. Expansive sliding glass doors along the side of the house open to a quaint, private back courtyard. The house maximizes flexible spaces with a den that has three large sliding pocket doors that close to turn the space into an extra guest room when needed.
