Rich Brilliant Willing’s Delta Floor Lamp is a flawless marriage of traditional and modern design. Utilizing the established box pleat technique, Delta is comprised of folded fabric in a unique silhouette that creates a more contemporary look of the familiar lampshade. Inspired by a rocket engine—notice the octagonal, rounded shape of the shade—the lamp was named after an astrodynamic number (Delta-v).
Haptic Lab designs intricate quilts of celebrated cities. Each Soft-Map City Quilt is made using 100 percent superfine cotton, ensuring a pleasant and soft tactile experience. From afar, the ivory quilt appears uniform, but upon closer look, the cotton quilt is interrupted by warm brown stitching, creating an elaborate and organized reproduction of your favorite city.
Brooklyn City Quilt is shown here. The quilt is also available in Boston, Chicago, London, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, Paris, Philadelphia, Rome, San Francisco, Washington D.C. versions at the Dwell Store.
From Egg Collective, the Tyler Table Lamp is a sculptural addition to a living room, office, or bedroom. Emblematic of Egg Collective’s dedication to American-made furniture, the Tyler Table Lamp’s hand-blown glass shade is made in New York and the blackened white oak wooden base is made in the design collective’s Brooklyn studio.
An exploration of the possibilities of materials, Souda’s Kreten Side Table employs stretch fabric as a mold for fiberglass reinforced concrete. Due to the nature of the materials—the stretch of the fabric and the weight of the concrete, each table takes on a distinctive form. The result is a truly one-of-a-kind side table that marries both industrial qualities and an organic sensibility.
Industrial design studio Fort Standard has created this sleek Marble Trivet out of cut stone in a simple geometric shape. Described by designers Gregory Buntain and Ian Collings as imbued with a “warm-contemporary aesthetic,” the White Marble Trivet adds sophistication to a dining room, kitchen, or living room space.
Designed by Pat Kim in his Brooklyn studio, the Triangle Dinner Bell is the perfect way to round up the troops for dinner, or delicately interrupt a marathon of video game playing. Reminiscent of traditional, rustic triangles, it is crafted from hand-bent hot-rolled steel, and includes a solid brass striker and an English Bridle leather loop for hanging and holding.
Rich Brilliant Willing’s Quart Table Lamp is comprised of simple cylindrical volumes. Like a structure of stacked building blocks, the stone base, wood stem, and powder-coated aluminum shade evolve from each other to create a spare, functional fixture with a minimal footprint. The organic nature of the materials—stone, wood, and metal—coupled with minimalist, modern shapes, make Quart an ideal blend of natural and refined design.
