Brammy and Kyprianou hung Koura pendant lights by New Zealand designer David Trubridge above the dining area. Their organic forms and diamond-shaped shadows create intimacy in the vast space. Among Bilardoâs contributions were the black tulipwood cabinetry and ceiling and the cantilevered concrete countertop that appears to go through the glass wall.
In the dining area, a one-of-a-kind table with a reclaimed Carrara marble top by NETâthemultidisciplinary design firm of architect Alejandro Sticotti, with whom Nicolas worksâis surrounded by prototypes of the companyâs Board chair. The family dog, China, sits on a floor made of travertine tiles.
"Our guiding mantra was: space is the ultimate luxury. With this house it was of the utmost importance to feel serenity," explains Bailey Peace Design's Betsy Peace. "And so every choice was constantly filtered by asking the questions, âIs this necessary? Does this belong? Can it co-exist without distracting the eye?â"
